Thinking about FE today: Who am I and what am I doing?

The key question:

What is happening in my working situation and how am I to interpret and relate to it in terms of the gospel and my faith?

Faith to make a difference is about making connection between faith and life, between the situation in which we find ourselves and the Kingdom of God. It offers a way of finding out:

  • What am I dealing with?
  • What is God beckoning me towards?
  • How do I respond and make a difference?
  • Looking at the situation and context in which we find ourselves is important because:
  • It allows us to stand back and have a good look at things.
  • It helps us check out some of our own assumptions and prejudices
  • It puts our feet firmly in our own situation and helps us explore some options for living faith and justice right now.

You can use this particular exercise as a personal journal if you want by writing down your responses to the guiding questions. You could revisit it on occasions and be amused, horrified, satisfied or challenged by what you thought and wrote then. In this way you could begin to build up a spiritual diary for your own lifelong journey of faith in terms of your work, your college and yourself.
